We are looking for experienced Horticulturalists who are reliable and take pride in maintaining immaculate, high-profile grounds. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of teamwork, and a commitment to ensuring that all machinery and operations are conducted according to specific aesthetic and safety guidelines.

  • Estate Maintenance: Assisting a dedicated team in maintaining 14 hectares of immaculate gardens, lawns, and bushland.
  • Turf Care: Professional mowing, flat snipping, brush cutting, and precision edging.
  • Garden Bed Management: Designing and planting annual and perennial beds for high-end seasonal displays.
  • Hedge & Tree Care: Precise hedging and general plant health maintenance.
  • Event Preparation: Preparing and grooming grounds to a pristine standard for official events and functions.
  • Facility Presentation: Site clearing, blowing, and ensuring all pathways and bushland interfaces are presentable.

This role is specifically centered around the prestigious Government House estate, with opportunities for mobility across high-profile regional sites:

  • Paddington / Brisbane
  • Surrounding Government Assets
  • Regional Official Residences

What you will need to exceed

Compulsory tickets/experience

  • Experience: Proven background in high-end garden maintenance or estate gardening.
  • Horticultural Skills: Proficiency in annual/perennial bed design and display planting.
  • White Card: Work Safely in the Construction Industry (Current).
  • Manual Driver’s License: Valid Australian license.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Experience with commercial mowers, brush cutters, and hedging tools.

Highly regarded

  • Cert III in Horticulture: Or trade equivalent qualification.
  • Event Prep Experience: Background in preparing public or private grounds for large-scale events.
  • ACDC Licence: Commercial Operators Licence for chemical application.
  • First Aid & CPR: (Or willing to obtain).
  • Reliability: Ability to work effectively within a small, professional team environment.
